يعتبر برنامج الدبلوم العام في التربية برنامج هام ومميز في قطاع غزة وله فرص عمل مناسبة، وقد تم التفكير بافتتاح البرنامج تلبية لحاجة المجتمع الفلسطيني للتخصص ويكون عمل الخريج في:
· المدارس في وزارة التربية والتعليم التابعة للسلطة الوطنية الفلسطينية.
· مدراس وكالة الغوث لتشغيل اللاجئين.
· رياض الأطفال
يهدف البرنامج إلى تحقيق مجموعة من الأهداف تتمثل في الآتي:
1. إعداد الكفاءات العلمية التخصصية في مجال التربية والتعليم وتأهيلهم للدراسات العليا.
2. إكساب الطلبة التنور التكنولوجي.
3. إكساب الطلبة المهارات العملية المختلفة.
