تعتبر دائرة الأمن والحراسات من أهم الأقسام الإدارية والأساسية لجامعة الأمة وذلك لضمان حفظ الأمن والنظام وتوفير الحماية والسلامة للجامعة و للموظفين وللطلبة وزوارها والحد من الأخطار البشرية أو الطبيعية بقدر الإمكان.

تتمثل مهمة أمن الجامعة في توفير بيئة سليمة لجميع منتسبي الجامعة من أعضاء هيئة التدريس وموظفين وطلبة وزوار و المحافظة على الأرواح والممتلكات داخل الجامعة ومن أهم اهداف دائرة الأمن والحراسات النقاط التالية.
1. حفظ النظام والارتقاء بمستوى الانضباط داخل الجامعة.
2. العمل على الارتقاء بمستوى الدائرة ومواكبة التطورات العصرية والتكنولوجية في مجال العمل الامني .
3. استمرارية التدريب والتطوير للكادر البشري (الأمني) بما يضمن نتائج إيجابية لصالح المؤسسة .
4. العمل على خلق بيئة إبداعية تنهض بالعمل الأمني المؤسساتي .
5. دراسة وتطوير وتحديث أنظمة الأمن والسلامة في المباني والجامعة ومواكبة التقنيات الحديثة .
6. العمل على تطوير منظومة الأمن والسلامة للجامعة.

1. إعداد الخطط والبرامج والاليات لضمان حماية الجامعة من أي خطر .
2. توفير الأمن والنظام والهدوء للطلبة والعاملين في الجامعة .
3. تأمين وتفقيد القاعات الدراسية وجميع المرافق أثناء و بعد الدوام الرسمي وعمل جولات داخل المبنى لحفظ الأمن في الجامعة .
4. توفير الهدوء والراحة النفسية والطمأنينة وعدم التضيق على الطلبة اثناء الامتحانات بإطار المحدود.
5. التأكد من إثبات شخصية الطالب وفحص البطاقة الجامعية عند الشك بأي شخص أو الشك بما يحمله معه قبل دخوله الحرم الجامعي.
6. التنسيق مع مكتب الرئيس والعلاقات العامة لتأمين استقبال الضيوف ومرافقتهم .
7. رفع تقارير دورية للشؤون الإدارية عن سير العمل والمخالفين بالنظام العام بالجامعة .
7. التنسيق مع جميع الدوائر والكليات عنده حدوث خطر وحالة ارباك في سير العملية التعليمية داخل الجامعة .
7. فض الاعتصامات والتجمعات داخل الجامعة وعمل على تفريقهم أن وجد .
8. الحراسة اليومية وعلى مدار الساعة سواء في الإجازات الرسمية أو غير الرسمية .
9. تأمين الاحتفالات والمؤتمرات وورش العمل داخل الجامعة وتسهيل مهام اللجان المكلفة بها .
10. متابعة الحوادث الأمنية التي تقع في الجامعة ورفع تقرير بالحادث للجهات المختصة في الجامعة.
